Su Wen-Chi
Su Wen-Chi is a choreographer and new media artist. She founded YILAB in 2005, initiating artistic practice through body and technology as primary media. From 2016 onwards, she has explored the dialogue between art and science, investigating how quantum phenomena and cosmic forces transform into artistic experiences while exploring human perception’s possibilities and sensitivities in our contemporary moment. Her representative works include W.A.V.E., which won the Gold Award in Alternative Design at the 2017 World Stage Design Exhibition, and Black Hole Museum + Body Browser, selected for the VR section of the 2023 Annecy International Animation Festival.
TIEN Hsiao-Tzu
Born in Tainan and currently based in Taipei, Tien Hsiao-Tzu centers the body as the core medium of artistic practice, focusing on how emotions are shaped by the times, power, memory, and everyday life. Through bodily practice, the work excavates the emotional energy accumulated within the body, reflecting on the relationship between the body and contemporary conditions. In recent years, Tien has been active in international exchanges and interdisciplinary performances spanning visual art, music, and new media, while continuing to work as a performer, collaborator, and movement designer in theater productions.
About the Performance: Shamanic Acts for 2026
A dancer sets out on a pilgrimage to the Goddess of the Sea, despite having no religious faith. She follows the crowd, moving to the beat of the drums, walking for hours, for days… She does not think; she only listens… She pauses when the heat becomes too much; when strangers offer her food, she accepts it. She is not pretending to be one of them, yet her body keeps reminding her that every movement she makes is just like theirs. When she finally stops walking, she is unsure whether she has reached a spiritual peak or has simply been moved to tears of joy.
