NIMBO is the latest project by MC/producer duo WADE DAO and HUGO–a deep dive into Taiwanese alternative Hip-Hop, and a daring new future. The duo will take the stage with microphones and SP404 samplers, guiding listeners toward Hip-Hop’s alternative and avant-garde undertones. Their performance features an atypical blend of rap and live beats, ideal for underground hip-hop, music production, and raw rap enthusiasts.
WADE DAO is a Taiwanese-American multidisciplinary artist based in Taipei by way of New York. He is an associate of the music group NOD TOWN and one of the co-founders of the creative agency Melting Part. In the city’s cultural spaces, WADE DAO champions a creative environment based on integrity, innovation, and internationality. His footprint within Taipei’s vibrant art ecosystem is both fluid and varied.
In 2023, WADE DAO received a nomination at Taiwan’s 2023 Golden Indie Music Awards (GIMA) for Best New Artist. His debut project A WILD DANCE OF FLAME was released in 2022 via Chi-Ching Records.
HUGO loves to study the culture behind music, and his mission is to present his favorite music from different angles and colors. In the creative process, he searches for special tones and absorbs them into his style, especially warm and generous sounds. He likes simple but detailed things.
