“爵犬 (Joe Trane)” literally translates to “jazz dog” in Mandarin Chinese–our play and tribute to the iconic jazz cats. It is one of Melting Part’s most celebrated and long-running projects that gives context and humanity to experiencing Jazz in and by Taiwan.
By shining a light on local Jazz musicians, DJ’s, and dancers, we create a contemporary, friendly point of access for younger and older generations alike to fall in love with the world of jazz – and all the modern musical lineage it embodies.
This unit features an ensemble of renowned musicians from across Taiwan’s musical ecosystem: UG (Bass), PTK (Keys), FlyingPP (Drums), Minyen Hsieh (Sax), and WADE DAO (Host/MC). Together with these explorers, come celebrate jazz in all of its forms!
