Tian Group

High walls filled with hollow corridors encircle
detectors at the center
Detection  They detect light emitted from bodies, attracting others with light of sufficient
energy

Interception  Bodies intertwine in the space, intent on merging together

Failure  In vain, only light can converge and then separate, drifting apart from each
other‘s glow In the cave of civilization, they wield the void to pierce through all the
cavities

Expansion  In the eyes of the detectors, the objects are slowly expanding, yet the space
does not seem to change accordingly
Distance  In this non-existent expansion, the distance between them is much greater
than thought

The location becomes the center of the immeasurable
Every location has its own observable universe
overlapping, or perhaps not overlapping

Tian Group was established in 2015. Its founders are Ke Defeng and Kao Hsiou-Hui, both graduates from art institute. They have participated in installation art, stage design, performance art, and theater since 2004. They dive into the interdisciplinary arts, the unconventional and overflow of boundaries. With a visual arts background, they explore the possibilities of art through performance art and performance, blurring established boundaries between seriousness and playfulness across various domains.
