INN
Taipei-based INN explores the relationship between the dancefloor, space, and human perception through hypnotic rhythms and intricate sound design. Active in Taiwan’s electronic music scene for over a decade, he extends his practice through Zub Records, which he runs, developing a distinct sound shaped by organic grooves and mechanical timbres. His work has been released on several underground labels. The EP State of Flow brought him wider international attention, followed by Molly, which delved further into spatiality and emotional depth.
Moving between techno, IDM, ambient, tribal, and psychedelic music, INN lets these elements flow naturally through shifting rhythms. Low frequencies draw the body in, subtle sounds emerge from the spaces in between, and energy builds gradually, guiding the senses inward through sound.
Overnight Dance Session Special (Curated in collaboration with tripper)
Dancing from late at night until dawn is perhaps the closest electronic music culture comes to ritual. Through recurring beats and bodies moving together, participants form a temporary community, sharing a stretch of time outside the rhythms of everyday life. In response to the question posed by this edition of Sonic Shaman—“How (Not) to Believe in This World Again”—the overnight program offers an answer: return to the body; return to a stretch of time that cannot be fast-forwarded, but can only be experienced firsthand. It is an experience that no screen can generate or fabricate. Carrying that experience with us, we return to the world.
