PA66

Formed in 2016, PA66 is one of the few active experimental ensembles in Taichung City. Everything you hear is improvised: highly rigid, high tensile strength, with its properties becoming even more pronounced when exposed to moisture. However, it also has a high shrinkage rate, dimensional instability, and an ever-changing lineup. The ensemble responds to various stage settings and performance contexts, ranging from free jazz to industrial noise and sound installations.

Though PA66 has remained intermittently active over the years, the group has continued to surface for occasional live performances. PA66 has previously shared the stage with Big Foot, the multinational free-jazz quartet led by Akira Sakata; Japanese duo Sax Ruins; and East Asian improvisation ensemble FEN.
